Google uses the AdSense program to spread its Pay-per-Click advertising across a wider spread of the internet. This multiplies their income from their AdWords or PPC program and Google are prepared to let website owners share in this lucrative income stream.
To grab your share of this easy money, you need to first have a website or blog. Then you apply to become a member of the AdSense program. When approved, you have agreed to allow Google to place advertising on your site in return for a percentage of the profit they make from AdSense.
Naturally, there are conditions and strategies that will help you maximize on this great opportunity. Basically though, if you have a website, you should be in the AdSense program to cash in on the easy money.
So, what do you, the website owner, need to do to be approved for AdSense?
Google will check out your website, using their own advanced technology, for the quality and quantity of your content - that is, what information you have on the site and how much there is. They expect your content to be useful, give value to the visitor and be relevant to the site. They love to see fresh, new content being added regularly because this will attract a constant stream of visitors. Google also want to make sure that your website is actually visited - there is no point putting advertising on a site that is rarely viewed! They will look at how much traffic your site receives; the more traffic it gets, the faster you will be approved and on your way to earning income.
Actually, these conditions, which Google are looking for, are exactly what you want for your site. You need lots of good quality, original content that is regularly updated with fresh information. You need lots of interested visitors to your site to read your amazing content because they find it pertinent to their lives. Google only want to include high quality sites in their AdSense campaign.
What ads will Google put on your website?
Because Google's goal with AdSense is to increase the range of their advertising, they will only place ads that are relevant to each site. Google is paid when someone clicks on the link in one of the ads, so the ads need to appeal to the people who are visiting your site. The aim is to provide a close match to your site, because this will mean more clicks and more income, for Google and for you.
So, how exactly will you make the money?
Every time one of your visitors clicks on one of the text or image Google ads displayed on your website, Google are paid by the ads' owner and they share a percentage of this with you. Google do not make public how much they actually make with each click, but each ad will attract a different amount, depending on what the ads' owner paid for it. It seems to range from a low.02c to about $15, and you have no control over whether the ads on your website are high or low paying.
AdSense is basically a numbers game - the more content/pages you have, the more money you can make. Irrespective of how much you make, it really is easy money once you have it all set up.
